The Wii U: Nintendo's Next Gen Console
At E3 this month (E3 is the biggest and most respected video game expo), Nintendo unveiled their next home gaming console, the Wii U! Pictured above is the Wii U's giant controller (standard Wii remotes will also work, depending on the game) boasting a 6.2in touch screen that will allow everything from video calling to web browsing.
The Wii U offers fully HD visuals, backwards compatibility with current Wii games, and unprecedented interactivity. One of the coolest features shown in the demo trailer is the ability to go from playing a game on your big screen at home, to playing it in the palm of your hand should someone else want to watch TV.
Nintendo also unveiled an impressive list of upcoming games for the Wii U. Based on what they showed during their E3 press conference, it looks like they're bringing a much larger variety of games to the system, including a lot more mature titles - good news for many hardcore gamers who have often labeled Nintendo as "kiddy" or only for "casual" gamers.
No word yet on how much the Wii U will cost, but it's slated for release late next year. Obviously, there's some skepticism over the big controller and whether or not Nintendo can fulfill all their promises, but I've owned and loved every video game console they've ever released. I stood in line for hours to get the Wii on launch day and I'm excited to do it all again with the Wii U!
What do you guys think?

Amazing Live-Action Call of Duty Modern Warfare Video!
Those of you who follow me on Twitter probably know I've been playing A LOT of Call of Duty Black Opps and Modern Warfare 2 the past couple weeks. These games are surprisingly addictive and fun, especially in multiplayer deathmatch that I play with my bf.
Reading Kotaku today, I found this live-action Modern Warfare video made by The Film Fest Rejects. It is so realistic and well made and awesome, I just had to share!

Shiro - Amazing makeup for video game nerds like me (and you. Don't lie)!
I love shopping for indie makeup on Etsy. There's some really talented people on there making really nice products.
But today while browsing Lipsticks and Lightsabers, I hear about this makeup brand Shiro whose tagline is "Makeup and geekery." Hey, I'm a geek who loves makeup... sounds like a match made in heaven!
This pic is from Shiro's two video game-related eyeshadow collections: The Super Effective Collection (inspired by Pokemon) and the Legends Collection (inspired by The Legend of Zelda games! Looove). Makeup for gamer girls!! Joy!
And just look at the incredible little jars they come in!! One looks like a Pokeball and the other has the Triforce on it, lookin all sassy and awesome. I would even keep the lil containers after the eye shadow's gone cuz they're so cool. The shades are so colorful and imaginative, and from what I hear, they're also very pigmented and great quality as well. You can bet I'm gonna be saving up my rupees to get some of these beautiful, vegan shadows! Get your own here.

Nintendo 3DS coming in 1 week!!!!
I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it. Finally, the coolest thing to happen to handheld gaming in over a decade is coming March 27th: the Nintendo 3DS!! It is literally 3D gaming in the palm of your hands without any dorky glasses.
At $249.99, it may seem a lil steep but if early reviews and demos are accurate, that'll be a steal! Unlike the original Nintendo DS, I doubt I'll be there on launch day to buy one (kinda broke at the moment. Lol), but I plan on getting one ASAP, and when I do, you guys will be the first to know! Read all about this sweet lil machine here and preorder your very own bundle of joy here!

Where's my new Zelda?
Still eagerly awaiting this year's release of the first new Zelda game since the Wii launched, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword! Apparently it was discussed at the most recent Game Developer's Conference and there's a pretty sweet new demo trailer floating around the interwebs. Can...Not...Wait! Anyone got any more recent release info on it?
GOW3
I mentioned I love video games and the newest installment of one of the coolest game franchises is coming out September 20th, 2011 - Gears of War 3!! Only 192 days left, fellow gamers (: Better start practicing now, I'll need it! As my boyfriend can attest, I love the game but I'm pretty sucky at it.
I couldn't resist adding my own personal touch to this sweet Gears pic ;)
Better late than never!
For ages now, I have had a love affair with cosmetics. What began as a few hand-me-downs from my mom when I was a teenager, has turned into a respectable collection that continues to grow. I vividly remember watching her apply her makeup before work (always blue and pink eyeshadow and frosty pink lips) and waiting with anticipation until the day I was old enough to wear makeup out of the house.
Now, many years later, I still love it. I discovered the blogs of tons of talented gals offering advice, tutorials, and product reviews, and have been hooked ever since. Unlike some of those blogs, I am not an expert or professional makeup artist, just a big fan :)
So, this blog will be quite a bit about makeup, but it will also be about my other interests in life: making jewelry, Japan, Hello Kitty, video games, school and life in general...and any other cute or shiny things that catch my eye along the way. Part blog/part photo album/part diary - that's what I'm going for here.
Wish me luck!
