Happy 2012!

I hope you all had a wonderful, safe New Year.  I spent the holiday with my family this year and had a really nice time. 
I seriously can't believe how fast 2011 went!  It wasn't my best year, and unfortunately had more downs than ups, but I'm staying positive and confident that this year will be better.

My resolutions for 2012 are:
1) Take better care of myself (eat and sleep better, and get in better shape)
2) Get back into blogging frequently like I used to
3) Get back in touch with long lost friends and relatives
4) Find a good, local church and read the Bible more often
5) Learn to better let go of old hurts and disappointments

I have other goals and plans, but those are the big ones.  Here's wishing you all a bright and prosperous New Year!  And because I can't post without a pic, here's a bunch of cute kitties crammed in a sink! lol

Gonna need some major drain cleaner after this!

Happy Birthday Hello Kitty!

Kitty-chan turns 37 years old today!  This beloved icon of all things kawaii was first introduced way back in 1974 in Japan, and is today just as stylish and popular as ever!

Pictured above is the first item Hello Kitty every graced: a small plastic coin purse.  It's now very rare and valuable.  Someday, I would LOVE to have this lil baby in my Hello Kitty collection!

Found some awesome PopSister magazine scans today over at Ekiblog and totally fell in love with this Liz Lisa (site in Japanese) dress!  It is a little short but I just love the drop waist, the lacy hem, and the big bow on the side.  I need this in my life.

Today's Random Kawaii - Autumn is Here

This cute Corgy looks so happy playing in the fall leaves.  I remember autumns in Kentucky, raking up huge piles of leaves under the big sycamore tree and jumping in them for hours.  Ahh the innocence of being a child, or a puppy.  Now fall just feels like a precursor to yucky winter :P

Bootie Babe Cosmetics - Kawaii or Crazy?

The Muse just posted on an unusual new cosmetics company called Bootie Babe.  They sell these colorful nail polishes in butt-shaped bottles.  The colors are really fun and summery, but I can't decide how I feel about the bottle.  So strange!

Aah, this pic brings back memories from my childhood of long car trips down to Kentucky to see family.  Riding for 8-12 hours in the backseat with my brother Ryan meant lots of "Mom he's touching me again," "Mom, she's on MY side!" "Tell him to stop looking at me!" etc...
This pic perfectly illustrates those feelings.  Check out the absolute innocence of the pup on the right!  "What are you talking about, I didn't do anything." lol  So cute :)

Today's Random Kawaii - Cat-stache

This cat's owners have a great sense of humor.  Nothing like decorating your cat's surgery recovery collar with a mustache to make him look like a villain from the 1920s.  Too funny!  Kitty doesn't look like he finds it nearly as amusing though.
