F.Y.I. Brief Life Update

Next week is final exams so I will be very busy this weekend and the following week studying and taking my exams, but I will try to post whenever possible.  I'm sorry ahead of time for the lack of frequent posts, but I thank everyone for their understanding.
There are some big changes happening in my life right now and I can't yet foresee what affect it may have on my ability to provide frequent blog updates.  I just ask for your patience and understanding.
Thanks so much for all your visits and kind words!  Have a great day and a better weekend! :)

Today's Makeup Look - Pink n Brown

I'm wearing my favorite Hello Kitty shirt today (sorry I didn't get a pic of it) and it's hot pink and brown so I thought I would try to come up with a makeup look combining those two colors.
I started with a shimmery flesh-tone on the inner corner, then added a bright pink on the outer half of the lid.  I swept a deep bronzy-brown into the crease, and a nice white on the browbone for a highlight.  I finished with false lashes and bubblegum pink lips and cheeks.
I tried this look as an experiment but I really like the way it turned out :)

Products used:  Four shades from the Claire's Designer Eyes palette (light, fleshtone shade, bright pink, dark shimmery brown, and the bright highlight shade)
Ardell 106 Black lashes
Revlon Timeliner in Ebony (for waterline)
Covergirl Cheekers in Classic Pink
Wet n Wild Mega Length black mascara (review coming soon!)
Covergirl lasting lipstick in 800 (it's one of those two-part lipticks that you apply the color first, then let it dry and apply the clear gloss. It doesn't have a color name listed on the tube)

Holy schnikies is this even for real?!  I just want to take this lil sleepy guy and nom him all up he's so unbelievably cute!  I think I just got a cavity from the overwhelming sweetness lol.

I'm Featured on Tokyo Kawaii Etc!

Kirin, over at the awesome website, Tokyo Kawaii Etc, has been running a feature called "My Kawaii" in which readers send in photos of things they own, make, or like that are "kawaii."  Today she featured some pics I sent her of my Sanrio/Hello Kitty collection, Houdini, and purikura, and invited her readers to join my blog!  Happy :D
Here's one of my pics she posted, and you can read the rest of the post here!

Today's Makeup Look - Old Fashioned Elegance

For this look, I was kinda going for old Hollywood - dramatic lips, big lashes, and big hair.

I really just wanted an excuse to wear my new lashes by Select Lash.  I found them at Dollar General for just $1.25!  Now that's a steal!

Products used:  Lancome Color Design eyeshadow in Mochaccino in the crease
Hard Candy Baked eyeshadow duo in Pick Up Line (the shimmery gold-white on the middle of the lid and on the browbone as a highlight)
Avon Perfect Wear eyewriter in Beaming Bronze
Select Lash false lashes S42 Black
Wet n Wild Mega Length mascara in Black
Estee Lauder Blush All Day in Pink Cloud
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color lipstick in Wear On Wildberry

Happy Easter!

I wonder if theses real-life "Peeps" are as tasty as the candy ones?  Lol Just kidding!  They're way too cute to eat.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Most Expensive Hello Kitty Necklace EVAR!

Behold the most crazy-expensive Hello Kitty necklace I've ever seen. It's a gorgeous piece by Kimora Lee Simmons featuring diamonds, saphires, and gold.  But, really?  I mean...oh good! It's on sale so I can finally afford it! Riiiiight... ;P
Found this "deal" through Hautelook which normally has some pretty great sales.  What do you guys think about it?

Today's Random Kawaii - Epic Kittens in Sunlight

This pic is just too perfect for words.  Adorable kittens? Check.  Amazing lighting and photography skills? Check.  Kittens loving on each other and actually MAKING A HEART WITH THEIR TAILS!?  Double check!!  This may very well be my favorite Random Kawaii yet.

Today's Makeup Look - Rainy Day Blues

It's super chilly and wet out today, so I decided to do a blue look featuring some Icing colors I got awhile back.

Nothing too complicated here, just use a couple coordinating shades of blue.  Sweep the medium/light blue over the lid then run some darker blue under the lower lash line.  To darken the crease you can use dark blue or a deep graphite color, like I did here.  Finish with white to highlight the browbone and inner corners.

Products used: 2 shades of blue from a large Icing palette (any blues will do)
Darker shadow for the crease (I used dark steel color from my L.A. Colors palette in Ocean Breeze)
White or flesh-toned shade for under the brow and along the inner corners
Avon Perfect Wear Eyewriter in Deep Violet
L'Oreal Double Extend mascara in Blackest Black
Random Icing lip gloss in shimmery pink

Today's Makeup Look - Green & Gold

Ever find an old eyeshadow or lipstick you totally forgot you owned and wonder why you don't ever use it?  That's exactly what happened here.  I found this gorgeous, shimmery, deep green loose eyeshadow that I got forever ago and wanted to use it.  I don't even know the brand or name of the color unfortunately, but you could use any deep, metallic-y green for this look.  Brush that over the lid and a little into the crease, then finish with a light gold to blend out the upper edges and a brighter, deeper gold in the inner corner to make the eyes pop.  A light pink or peachy blush and gold-toned lipgloss finish off the look.
I'm not going to include a "products used" section since I don't know the brands or names of the eyeshadows used.  You can use any deep greens and golds you have.  Also the lipgloss I'm wearing is homemade, so that won't help you either, but it's a light, peachy shade with gold undertones.  Sorry to be difficult ;P lol

Gigantic Hello Kitty Tattoo!

Pic via Hello Kitty Hell
I love me some Hello Kitty (I mean like really love! lol), but is it possible to go too far in your desire to prove it?  I myself have a Hello Kitty tattoo that I got many years ago, but it's small and hidden 90% of the time.  This is a LOT of ink!  I don't know, what do you guys think?  Cute or crazy?

Today's Makeup Look - Sterling Blue

As lame as it sounds, the inspiration for this look was actually my shirt.  It's getting warmer out so I was pulling out some summer stuff and was like "hey, I love this tank and I forgot all about it!" So anyway, this makeup look uses silver and deep, metallic blue with peachy lips.
I covered the main part of the lid in silver, then blended the deep blue into the crease and above.  I also put some of the blue below my bottom lash line and used a light shimmery fleshtone for the brow highlight.  I finished the look with black, winged-out eyeliner and black in the waterline.
Products used:  silver, light pink, and dark metallic blue from the Claire's Designer Eyes palette
Wet n Wild Mega Liner in 861 (black)
Maybelline Line Express in Ebony Black (for the waterline)
Maybelline The Falsies mascara in Black Drama
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection powder
Maybelline Expert Wear blush in Rose Silk
Hard Candy Glossaholic lip gloss in Lush

Today's Makeup Look - Peacock-inspired using L.A. Colors Ocean Breeze

There's been a bunch of peacock-inspired makeup tutorials online recently, so I decided to try out my own look using similar colors (blue, purple, green, white, black, etc). Starting with the inner corner, I put white, then blue, fading into purple in the outer corner.  I also brushed some purple lightly above the crease and a little under the eyes to blend everything together.  Pretty easy!

Products used: L.A. Colors Ocean Breeze palette (white, blue, and purple)
Wet n Wild Mega Liner in 861 (black)
Maybelline The Falsies mascara in Black Drama
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection powder
Covergirl Cheekers blush in Classic Pink
L'Oreal ColourJuice lipgloss in Shimmy Pop

Report Confims Nintendo Annoucing Next Console at E3 this June!!

And supposedly, their new console, to be released next year, will be more powerful than the XBox 360 and the PS3! Ahhh! I swoon.  Read the article here via Kotaku.  Stay tuned for more on the Wii 2; I'll share anything I find out.

Today's Makeup Look - Rosy Pinks

I'm sorry I haven't posted a makeup look in a couple weeks, but I had some free time today and thought I'd go ahead a do it.  I knew I wanted to use pink, so this is what I came up with. Hope you like it :)

I like this look because it's totally wearable and springy.  It's not even summer yet and I'm already getting freckly lol.  Do you think it's better with or without the flash? I can't decide which I think comes out better.
